Going Glo(c)al

Going Glo(c)al looks at the role and position of design and architecture in complex local and global contexts. What are some of the non-binary ways of practicing architecture that is informed by, and give agency to, ecological, traditional, social, and collaborative aspects of making space, especially when working in cultures and geographies that are not ours? How can we discuss cultural diversity, (spatial) justice, social impact, (de)colonization, ethics of locality, and our position as architects within these and the international development sector? Via a series of weekly readings, discussions, lectures, and journal entries I was encouraged to expand my understanding of architectural production in relation to complex environmental, social, and cultural aspects of sustainable global development while confronting the political nature of development.
