NothingVaguelyFeelsFamiliar

NOTHINGVAGUELYFEELSFAMILIAR is a synthesis of investigating the effect of montage, a film editing technique, of bodies moving through space. Montage compresses time and space. The film involves the audience as the final entity experiencing a four-day music festival at the State Library. Montage both through filmic structure and architectural design allows the individual to experience an entirely β€œnew” kind of architectural promenade, where a rapid sequence of information initially disorients the viewer, which is juxtaposed with a reorientation and familiarization of the event. Another theme prevalent in the design of the festival and film is the growth of the festival itself. It learns and improves upon the day before resulting in an evolution from naive and incomplete to a fully functioning music festival.
